Skyggen af en hund (The Shadow of a Dog)
You can find Erik Heide’s sculpture “Shadow of a Dog” at the library entrance from the Smedegade parking lot.
The iron sculpture depicts the shadow of a dog in a realistic style. The dog itself seems to have moved on, leaving only the shadow on the library wall. The dog symbolizes loyalty and friendship—values that resonate with the library's role as a gathering place for the local community.
Erik Heide has created several works in and around Herning. Along the roadside north of Tjørring, you will find his Monument to the Stonecutter, Jens Vejmand.
