St. Brøndum Church

St. Brøndum Church is a medieval church with a Romanesque chancel and nave. The tower and porch were added during the late Gothic period, and the tower was later rebuilt in 1790. It bears the initials of E. H. von Schimmelmann.

On the south side of the church is a distinctive tympanum – a triangular decorative panel – featuring crossed and curved stems.

Inside the church, you can see several historic furnishings. The altarpiece dates from 1599 and is designed in the Renaissance style, while the Romanesque baptismal font is accompanied by a Dutch baptismal bowl from the 17th century. The pulpit dates from the 19th century, and the church bell, which is still in use, dates all the way back to 1419.

The church also contains a memorial plaque for those who fell in the war of 1848–1850. In 1939, the church underwent an extensive renovation.

The church can be visited by prior arrangement with the church caretaker.
