Street Art - BURNON - Østre Havnegade 37 og 39

At Østre Havn in Aalborg, art has been brought right into everyday life. In the residential building Kulturrækken, 12 colorful street art portraits now adorn the stairwells, all created by the North Jutland artist Burn On.

The street art artist Claus Frederiksen, also known as Burn On, had portrayed 6 North Jutland songwriters and 6 authors in each of their stairways. From the fifth to the ground floor in each stairway, the faces of "the North Jutland cultural life" now faced the street. In the neighborhood that the contractor and real estate developer Enggaard A/S once bought for 42.8 million DKK. And where the high-rise buildings are now so close in some places that those lucky enough to have a balcony can shake hands with the neighbor across the street. The artwork was financed and paid for by Enggaard. The building with the portraits is called "Kulturstrækken" (Culture Row), and "the art is not just made for the residents, but also as a contribution to the street and city life." This is exactly what the guests at the opening did from the opposite sidewalk, while the 12 portraits watched from the stairways.
