Summer Concert – Organ Recital
One of Aarhus Cathedral's acclaimed organists will be performing in Ringkøbing.
He has selected an engaging programme of both early and contemporary music that sounds particularly beautiful on the church's two organs. The programme includes works by the Renaissance composer Paul Hofhaymer, Johann Sebastian Bach from the Baroque period, and the contemporary composer Mikkel Andreassen.
Admission: DKK 60 (free for young people under 25).
About Thomas Obeth
As a concert organist, Thomas Obeth has performed on many of Denmark's most significant organs. He has established himself as a specialist in twentieth-century organ repertoire, with a particular focus on composers such as Anton Heiller, Frank Martin and Paul Hindemith, whose complete organ works he has performed across five critically acclaimed concerts.
Alongside his concert career, he has developed a research-based approach to his artistic work and is involved in several projects at the intersection of performance and musicology. His work has resulted in publications in Danish and Swedish academic journals.
