The “Grønne Kløversti” - the green clover leaf route - in Bogense is a short, charming 2.3 km route. The green clover signs mark the way, and the start and finish are by the pylon at Bogense Gl. Havn (the old harbour). The terrain is hilly, with a maximum incline of 7.1%.

Bogense harbour has a long history—there used to be lots of traffic and hard work here, with fishing boats, a lime works, and industry. Today you can still feel that history in the old buildings and former fishermen’s houses, while the area also has cafés and shops.

The route continues along the “Vægtervej” by the town stream, where the watchman once patrolled and townspeople collected water and washed clothes.

On Adelgade you’ll pass Erik Menveds Kro from the 1500s and beautiful old merchants’ courtyards. Skt. Annagade is full of historic buildings, including the old town hall. At Torvet there’s a market every Thursday, and you’ll spot one of Denmark’s smallest houses at no. 15.

Skt. Nikolaj Church is also well worth a visit, with its history as a sea marker. The view along the coast from the church path is gorgeous.

After the walk, you can relax at Bogense’s cafés and restaurants. Look for benches along the way, plus tables and benches by the harbour and the marina. Enjoy!
