The Tinderbox
H.C. Andersen's fairy tale comes to life through theater, street dance, 3D animation and music in Steen Koerner's interpretation. Bring the family to Musikhuset Esbjerg for the story of the soldier, the witch and the princess who dreams of freedom.
Experience H.C. Andersen's classic for the whole family in Steen Koerner's modern, musical interpretation of The Tinderbox. The performance takes place at Musikhuset Esbjerg on January 26, 2027, at 6:00 PM.
Theater, street dance, 3D animation and music come together in a colorful tale for children and adults alike. Meet the poor soldier returning home, the witch and the dogs with eyes as big as teacups, mill wheels and the Round Tower – and the princess who dreams of love and freedom beyond the castle walls.
In Koerner & Co's interpretation, the fairy tale enters our own time and becomes a poetic, heartfelt tribute to mothers and sons at war throughout the ages. Visual effects, new music and lyrics accompany the story of courage, initiative, hope and forgiveness.
