Tirsbæk Castle Park

The castle park is located on the north side of Vejle Fjord between high, forested slopes in a side valley of the fjord.

Tirsbæk Castle Park is quite special, as its history dates back to the Renaissance, which is true for only a few manor gardens in Denmark. The key elements of the garden are the terrace layout, the vineyard, the surrounding stone wall, and the moat.

Tirsbæk Castle is privately owned. The park spans 12 hectares and was established as a Renaissance garden in 1745. The main building is situated on an islet separated from the garden by a moat. The park is surrounded by a fieldstone wall and contains an animal, fruit, and ornamental garden, as well as a terrace layout and a vineyard – the oldest existing in Denmark. Today, it is close to Tirsbæk Beach and the Tirsbæk Beach kiosk.

The castle's estate includes 400 hectares of farmland, meadows, and forests. The estate is operated as a combined agricultural and forestry enterprise.

Guided tours for groups are available. Contact Hans Henrik Algreen-Ussing at +4520331260.

Additionally, there is a nice walking trail in the area on a 3-kilometer route that takes about 1 hour. The route is not marked. It goes through forest, beach, and castle meadows and past Tirsbæk Castle. Click on the link to see the route - Tirsbæk - Udeliv Vejle
