In the early morning hours you may spot hares in the fields and pheasants along the roadsides — wildlife thrives in this quiet landscape.

For birdwatchers, the hilltop provides a good overview of the surrounding fields, where raptors such as common buzzards and kestrels hunt. In winter, flocks of lapwings and golden plovers sweep across the landscape, and the large soaring silhouettes of white-tailed eagles that have established themselves in the area are not an uncommon sight.
