The Ristinge Peninsula and Cliff

The Ristinge Peninsula forms the western tip of Langeland. On the south coast, you’ll find the impressive cliff, which slopes gently westwards into Ristinge Hale with its low-lying meadows and coastal lakes.

Walk – Hjertestien 3.22 km – Around the Ristinge Peninsula

Shortly after leaving the car park, you can opt for the slightly longer 3.22 km route by turning left, where an archaeological site dating from around 4,000 BC is located.
From here, continue on to Ristinge Klint, which is 25 metres high. When you reach the cliff, on a clear day there is a fantastic view of Bagenkop and Marstal.

From here, continue along the path to Ristinge Hale, where there are toilet facilities. At Ristinge Hale and Storeholm, there is a rich variety of birdlife and, in clear weather, a fine view of Rudkøbing.

What is a Heart Trail?

A Heart Trail is a marked exercise route with signs bearing the Heart Association’s logo placed along the route. The trail is suitable for everyone.

Many of the Danish Heart Association’s local branches organise regular weekly activities on the Heart Trails. In addition, many
places host one-off events and annual local events, such as a New Year’s walk, health days with activities on the trails, exercise sessions in collaboration with local clubs, or other activities.

Check the calendar on the Danish Heart Foundation’s website to see when there is an event on your local Heart Trail. You are, of course, also welcome to use the trail outside of official events – take the family and a picnic basket out into the countryside.

Ristinge Klint is one of the three special geosites in the South Funen Archipelago Geopark.
