Rinse the berries (you can use currants, raspberries, strawberries and/or cherries) and let them boil in the water for about 5 minutes.
Place the berries in a sieve and drain. Keep the juice - you'll need it next!
Bring the juice to the boil and add the sugar.
Stir the flour into cold water. Then stir this into the juice. Don't let this mixture boil otherwise it will get too thick.
Add the berries and top with sliced almonds if you wish. Serve with cream or milk.
