Gl. Lejre

The area around Gammel Lejre is particularly known for its wealth of historic sites and the legends of the Scyldingas. A trip to the ancient mounds and stone ships also provides plenty of opportunity to enjoy nature. 

Protected orchids populate the meadows and the medieval dam affords a view of the large lake with its flocks of birds. A network of bike paths and hiking paths criss-cross the area.
