The hotel’s bright rooms and suites are located in both the original hotel building and the newer extension. Several rooms have a private balcony or terrace, while the materials, colors and artwork bring the character of Bornholm into the hotel experience.

From the hotel, you can walk directly into the forest and continue toward the coast and one of Bornholm’s more secluded sandy beaches. The location makes it easy to combine your stay with walks, bike rides and experiences around Rønne—or simply enjoy the hotel’s peaceful surroundings.

At the top of the hotel, you will find a rooftop terrace overlooking the area, along with a sauna and outdoor hot tub. Here you can round off the day under the open sky after exploring the island.

Thoughtful design in the buildings and grounds

Hotel GSH is also a place to experience how architecture, materials and technical solutions are considered together. The newer guest room wing is built from wood, and several parts of the building are designed so that the materials can be taken apart and reused in the future.

Solar panels generate electricity for the hotel, and water from showers is treated and reused for flushing toilets. In the hotel grounds, you will find paths incorporating recycled glass from Bornholm glass designer Pernille Bülow, while the natural areas are laid out to provide space for plants and wildlife. You may be lucky enough to spot roe deer, hares and rabbits.

This thoughtful approach also extends to smaller details: kitchen waste is converted into biogas, and sheep help maintain parts of the grassy areas. Hotel GSH is Green Key certified, and the building has been awarded DGNB Silver.
