The Søndersø Lake in Furesø

Søndersø is a lake located in the city Værløse in Furesø municipality northwest of Copenhagen. The lake offers several activities at the five kilometer path that runs along the lake. You can walk or run - the path is also suitable for prams. You can discover the area's birdlife from the bird tower. You can swim on your own risk. However, it is not allowed to sail. 

On the south side of Søndersø you can find the former are air base, which today has opened its vast land to the public. There is access to the airfield from the path around the Søndersø.

The lake is part of Værebro river system and has a surface area of 123 ha, an average depth of 3.3 m and a maximum depth of 7.8 m. Soendersø is very clean and has for years been owned by HOFOR, who has used lake water for water abstraction
Søndersø has in 2014 and 2015 has undergone a major restoration, where the water has become very clear.
