The Cultural Production Center Godsbanen

Godsbanen is a centre for cultural production in Aarhus. Enjoy the resturant, the open workshops or the great view from the roof of the unique building.

Godsbanen is a 10,500 m² cultural powerhouse in an old goods yard.

Everyone is welcome, whether you want to experience, learn or create yourself! Here you can experience exhibitions, theatre, readings, concerts, markets and much more. You can work in the open workshops, pick and choose from more than 700 annual events and much more. See the Godsbanen calendar here.

More than just events

Godsbanen is worth a visit for its stunning architecture. The rooftop offers beautiful views all the way out to Brabrand Lake, and the courtyard is an oasis for a packed lunch or something delicious from Spiselauget.

The many possibilities in the house

Godsbanen is home to a wide range of players, including Teater Katapult, the venue Radar, restaurant/café Spiselauget, Open Stage, Aarhus Film Workshop, film schools, the Centre for Visual Arts, Literature and Performing Arts, a business centre and not least around 70 project offices within all cultural genres. In addition to their own activities, you can also experience a large number of performances, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, meetings etc. by other organisers who rent premises from Godsbanen.

Institute for (x) = Micro-Berlin

In a cluster of old DSB buildings behind the Godsbanen railway station is Institut for (X); a cultural platform for young entrepreneurs, designers, musicians, artists and craftsmen and a very special piece of Aarhus. Here, cultural entrepreneurs, voluntary organisations, artists and cultural actors live side by side in an area that is often described as a micro-Berlin. The area is teeming with life and exciting projects, and everyone is welcome to drop by. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
