Drejø
Step into island life on Drejø, where village streets, coastal meadows and harbour atmosphere meet in The South Fyn Archipelago.

Drejø was once made up of two separate islands, Drejø to the east and Skoven to the west. Today they are connected by Drejet, a narrow isthmus that gave the island its name. Located between Ærø, Fyn and Tåsinge, Drejø is often referred to as being “in the middle of the world”.
Drejø By is the island’s main village and features well-preserved half-timbered houses and farmsteads. Several of these buildings survived the major fire of 1942, an event that became an important part of the island’s history. The village still reflects the character of traditional island life.
The island offers varied scenery with coastal meadows, shorelines and rich birdlife. These natural surroundings make Drejø well suited for walking and cycling. From the ferry landing, only a few kilometres separate visitors from the western part of the island, where open views across The South Fyn Archipelago await.
Drejø is home to an inn, grocery store, café, local museum, campsite and several farm shops selling local products. Gammel Havn on the northern coast is a preserved harbour from the days of fishing and freight transport by sea. The harbour remains a popular gathering place for sailors and kayakers and contributes to the distinctive atmosphere of island life on Drejø.
