“Fojetta” is an ancient term for half a bottle of wine. The term was introduced over 500 years ago by Pope Sixtus V so that Roman restaurants could sell wine in half measures. Today you can enjoy a “fojetta” at Fojetta, located in Frederiksberg on Borups Allé. The long, gray street may seem slightly anonymous and is not characterized by a wealth of eateries – Fojetta is therefore a hidden gem that is well worth seeking out. In the yellow- and red-painted restaurant, you'll find the smell of Italian gastronomy and the sound of lively chatter and clinking wine glasses. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, whether you want to enjoy light snacks and wine at the bar or dine on Roman specialties such as focaccia bread with creamy mortadella, cacio e pepe and supplí. The wine list is extensive and includes everything your heart desires from delicious Italian wines. Fojetta first established its roots in Nørrebro, but has now moved to Frederiksberg, where they continue to serve a little piece of Rome in the heart of Copenhagen – and at reasonable prices.
