The troll, Frie Vilje, stands in the peaceful Bangshave Forest, an area characterized by beautiful nature, close to both The Old Houses – the Open-Air Museum and the Maribo Lakes Nature Park.

The forest troll Frie Vilje was created by the renowned artist Thomas Dambo, known for his impressive sculptures made from recycled materials. His works can be found all over the world, from the USA and Mexico to Belgium and South Korea.
