Græsmarken at Ugerløse – Coastal Spot for Sea Trout

One of the best-known coastal fishing spots in West Zealand
Græsmarken near Ugerløse is one of the best-known coastal spots in West Zealand – and with good reason. Every year a great many fine sea trout are caught here. Most are not giants, but this particular spot has a reputation for producing genuinely large sea trout almost every year.
Within a relatively short stretch you can fish over very varied ground. Park at Græsmarken or visit Ugerløse Holiday Centre, which specialises in serving anglers with a cleaning table, boat winch and fishing competitions.
The spot in detail
To the right lie several mussel reefs, which should be fished carefully both before and beyond the reef. There are also smaller points that often hold fish. Further south the seabed can change markedly after storms, but it is generally shallower here with good sandy holes – a natural winter or spring spot when the sun is out.
Hard-fighting rainbow trout are not unusual at Græsmarken. Otherwise the main quarry is sea trout, garfish and flatfish.
