Help the biodiversity in the moor

Now you can join a heathland care tour. Here you will receive expert guidance so that you can help biodiversity along the way for the benefit of butterflies, hedgehogs and heather.

The moor has long been under pressure. In fact, the moor habitat type is rarer than rainforest worldwide and is in danger of disappearing completely if it's all covered in forest. But this can now be rectified!

Now you have the opportunity to join René Bautista Hankelbjerg from Ringkøbing Fjord Museers on an exciting tour of Dejbjerg Hede and try your hand at moor management for an afternoon. You will get an introduction to the history of the moor and the work with moor management - and why it is so important. We have all the equipment and tools, so all you need to do is turn up in practical clothes and a good dose of enthusiasm. Everyone can help, whether you're more into tree felling or less physically demanding tasks.

At the end of the walk, you'll be able to celebrate the difference you've made to the biodiversity of the moor while enjoying a fantastic nature experience. Not only that, but the tour ends with you enjoying some local specialities produced in or near the West Jutland moor together.

You can join the first tour on the 27th of March at 13:00-16:00, and after that the tours take place every Wednesday at 13:00-15:00 (April-June, September-October)
