A young forest with an important purpose
Elmelund Forest is the largest forest in Odense Municipality and also a relatively new nature area. It was established through a partnership between the Danish Nature Agency, Odense Municipality and VandCenter Syd, with an important purpose: protecting the groundwater beneath the area. Today, the forest covers around 390 hectares of woodland and open natural areas, with an extensive network of trails and a wide variety of trees and shrubs.
