Musholm – Holiday Centre with Accessibility for All
Musholm near Korsør is the world's most accessible holiday centre, created by the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. Award-winning architecture, sea-view apartments, restaurant and activities for everyone — right on the Great Belt.

A holiday centre where everyone belongs
Musholm near Korsør is not simply a holiday centre — it is a place built on the conviction that everyone deserves great holiday experiences, regardless of physical ability. Created by the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation (Muskelsvindfonden), which also runs the famous Grøn Koncert and Cirkus Summarum, Musholm has been internationally recognised as the world's most accessible holiday and sports centre. Here, families, couples, groups of friends and conference delegates come together in surroundings where universal design is not a compromise but a quality that elevates the experience for every guest.
Award-winning architecture on the Great Belt
Musholm sits on Musholmvej near Korsør with direct views across the Great Belt and the Storebælt Bridge. The building has won international recognition for its innovative design, which unites aesthetics with full accessibility. The bright, modern holiday apartments are designed so that wheelchair users can move freely and naturally through every room, while the architectural experience is equally inspiring for guests without disabilities. An activity ramp with landings and recreational zones leads guests up to a plateau where they can try a climbing wall and the world's first cable-lift designed for wheelchair users. It is architecture that proves accessibility and beauty need not be mutually exclusive.
Holidays with sea views and community
The centre offers holiday apartments with views across the Belt, and the atmosphere is shaped by the particular warmth that arises when a place has been created with genuine care for its guests. Musholm's staff consistently score top marks for helpfulness and service — it is clear that the team is passionate about creating good experiences. Restaurant Evald K serves dishes made with local ingredients and sea views, and in summer you can enjoy dinner with the sunset over the Great Belt as your backdrop.
Sport, activities and parasport
Musholm is home to a range of sports activities and elite parasport. The centre provides the facilities for Denmark's leading para-athletes and national teams and has hosted international championships in disciplines such as powerchair hockey. But you do not need to be an elite athlete to benefit from the facilities — there are activities for all levels and all bodies. The swimming facilities include an accessible bathing pier on the Great Belt, wide enough for wheelchair users to pass and turn, and the beach area provides access to Musholm Bay with fine bathing water.

Korsør and its surroundings offer far more than Musholm alone.
