Ready for Christmas? – Christmas exhibition at Sorø Museum
How was Christmas celebrated in the past? At Sorø Museum's Christmas exhibition the whole family can explore Christmas food, gifts, faith and cosiness from different eras – and spin a wheel to find out which period of history you should celebrate Christmas in.

Sorø Museum is on Storgade in the centre of Sorø and tells the story of life in town and countryside. During the Christmas season it shows the family exhibition Klar til jul? about how Christmas has been celebrated through history. See opening hours on Museum Vestsjælland's page.
Christmas through the ages
The exhibition is about Christmas food, gifts, faith and cosiness, based on stories and traditions from all over West Zealand. Spin the wheel to find out which era you should celebrate Christmas in.
Curious customs
Along the way you are challenged with questions about old Christmas customs: why did cattle need protecting from trolls, and why did the laundry have to be finished before Christmas? A fun way to learn more about Christmas together.
Mulled wine, æbleskiver and an escape room
The museum's cosy inn room serves mulled wine and æbleskiver, and in December brave families can try a Christmas escape room.
Practical information
Normal museum admission applies, and the exhibition can be seen during museum opening hours. Combine your visit with a walk by Lake Sorø or a look inside Sorø Abbey Church.
