Vågehøj shelter site offers four places and requires neither booking nor payment. You simply turn up, settle in and enjoy the evening with a campfire and a starry sky. The site is managed by the Danish Nature Agency (Naturstyrelsen Midtsjælland), and the primitive character is part of the appeal — here it is about being close to nature without unnecessary infrastructure.

Bring your own water and firewood, and be prepared for wind — Røsnæs is exposed to all points of the compass, and the wind is very much part of the experience. The shelter provides good protection, and the fire pit is strategically placed so you can enjoy the warmth while gazing across the Great Belt.
