Guided Tour, Wine Tasting and Overnight Stay

At Vesterhave Vingaard, you can enjoy a vineyard visit including a guided tour and wine tasting at Denmark’s largest organic winery. You will be taken on a guided walk through the vineyard’s wine and apple plantations, home to approximately 25,000 vines. The winemaker will guide you through the vineyards and share the story of the estate, the unique planting systems inspired by Italy, and how it is possible to produce award-winning wine in Denmark.

During the visit, you will learn about the seasonal work in the vineyard and get a look inside the cosy wine cellar, where the wines age in oak barrels and develop their character. The tour ends in the winery and farm shop, where you will hear more about the winemaking process after harvest – from grape to finished wine.

Afterwards, you will enjoy a wine tasting featuring a selection of the vineyard’s organic wines, including white wine, rosé, sparkling wines and fuller-bodied red wines inspired by the Amarone and Ripasso methods. Guided tours and tastings are available as scheduled events on selected dates, or can be booked as a private group experience (for groups of more than 10 people), where the visit can also be combined with tapas or dinner.

If you would like to extend your stay at the vineyard, you can also spend the night in the vineyard’s suites and cosy rooms. Here you can wake up to the sound of the sea, birdsong and views over the vineyards – far away from the noise and stress of the city.

Visit the vineyard on your own

It is also possible to visit Vesterhave Vingaard on your own and explore the vineyards at your own pace during the shop’s opening hours every Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The vineyard has created a free audio walk, allowing you to stroll through the vineyards with the winemaker in your ears. Along the way, you will gain insight into wine production, organic cultivation and everyday life at a Danish vineyard. The audio walk is available in Danish, English, Dutch and German.

If you would like a wine tasting and a vineyard visit outside the scheduled events, you can pre-book a wine tasting from Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm. However, advance booking is required if the visit takes place outside the shop’s regular Saturday opening hours.

During your visit, you can also stop by the farm shop, where you can taste and purchase the vineyard’s own wines as well as local specialities. Many guests choose to combine their visit with one of the vineyard’s scheduled tasting events, or extend the experience with an overnight stay among the vineyards.

Vesterhave Vingaard also offers tailor-made experiences for private events such as birthdays, corporate events, weddings and confirmations – with the option of guided tours, wine tastings, great food and overnight accommodation in idyllic surroundings.
