Tivoli Summer Season

Place: Copenhagen. Dates: 8 April – 25 September 2022

The world's second oldest amusement park and one of Denmark's most famous attractions, Tivoli, is packed with crazy rides, green oases, gourmet food, rock concerts, and much more. Every Friday during the summer season, Tivoli Gardens offers a different live music act live on stage at the park. 

Art Tour Southwest Jutland

Place: South West Jutland. Dates: 15 – 17 April 2022

During Easter, the main art event, Art Tour Southwest Jutland takes place. All along the North Sea Coast and the unique Wadden Sea nearly 100 galleries, studios and museums welcome you to visit them. The Art Tour is censored to secure high standard and quality. You can visit the Info center of the event in Ribe, where you can get details of the art tour and the artists. Place: South West Jutland.

SPOR Festival

Place: Aarhus. Dates: 27 April – 1 May 2022

SPOR is a festival in Aarhus for contemporary music and sound art. International sound art SPOR creates a platform for stronger connections to the international sound art and music scenes - and encourages a fruitful exchange that can inspire artists and further develop Danish contemporary music. 

International Viking Market

Place: Ribe Viking Center. Dates: 2 – 8 May 2022

In the first week of May, more than 500 Vikings from all over Europe flock to Ribe Vikinge Center. The market atmosphere is authentic and intensive just like it would have been in Ribe 1300 years ago. You will be able to experience, how the Vikings lived and worked, and at the market place includes many exciting stalls, where a good trade can be done.

Internet Week Denmark Festival

Place: Aarhus. Dates: 3 - 8 May 2022

Internet Week Denmark in Aarhus is a festival celebrating the internet, its success and the impact it has on business and everyday lives. Just as the Internet, the festival is open for all, digital professionals, students, and citizens, and with more than 85 events on everything from sustainability, democracy, diversity and the vast world of tech – there is a lot to explore.

Spot Festival

Place: Aarhus. 6 -7 May 2022

The ambition of the SPOT Festival is to create a promotion platform for Danish and Nordic music. The festival’s repertoire is dictated chiefly by the will to support new bands and upcoming artists predicted to succeed internationally.

Lillebælt Half Marathon

Place: Middelfart. Date: 7 May 2022

Lillebælt Half Marathon typically has approximately 11,000 registered runners, and is thus Denmark’s biggest half marathon. It is a unique route, which takes the runners through narrow, picturesque streets, stunning scenery and across the Old Lillebælt Bridge.

Prison Ink

Place: Horsens. Dates: 26 – 28 May 2022

The prison facilities in FÆNGSLET in Horsens are host to a different tattoo convention with the focus that everyone can get their curiosity and get an insight into an industry they might not know so well. With app. 250 tattoo artists from all over the world the audience will get to see the artist at work, and perhaps get their own tattoo.

Copenhagen Marathon

Place: Copenhagen. Date: 15 May 2022

Copenhagen Marathon is the 43rd edition, and a popular annual road running event, including marathon, half marathon and 10 km distance races. It all takes place in the streets of Copenhagen. Since its establishment in 1980, it has been held in May with around 10,000 participants each time.

Tulip Festival

Place: Ribe. Dates: 12 – 15 May 2022

The Tulip Festival in Ribe is a traditional Spring fair with parades, music, beer tents and amusement rides. The Tulip parade takes place on the last day of the festival, and this year’s theme for the tulip parade is Disney.

Heartland Festival

Place: Kværndrup (Egeskov Castle). Dates: 2 – 4 June 2022.

Heartland is a cultural festival taking place at the beautiful Egeskov Castle on Funen. It offers a new type of festival, combining four key elements: music, food, art and conversation. Heartland aims for a high level of quality through cooperation with key local partners. 

Copenhagen Beer Week

Place: Copenhagen. Dates: 11th - 21st May 2022.

One of Copenhagen's most festive events of the year is the Beer Festival. Danish Beer Enthusiasts invite you to join a three-day Beer festival in Copenhagen. The Festival is open to anyone aged 18+ years and anyone who’s interested in learning more about beer tasting, new beers or just wants to have a beer experience beyond the ordinary.

Aalborg Carnival

Place: Aalborg. Date: 28 May 2022

The carnival in Aalborg is the largest carnival in Northern Europe with up to 60,000 carnivalists in the Grand Parade, and more than 100,000 spectators watching the magnificent wave of colors and fantasy along the parade route. The parade moves through the streets of Aalborg and ends in Kildeparken. This year’s theme is “When I grow up…”.

Wool Festival

Place: Saltum. Dates: 7 – 8 May 2022

Each year, around 20.000 people go to the small coastal town of Saltum, to participate in the biggest annual wool festival in Scandinavia. The Festival provides a showcase of the best wool and wool crafts and is all about creativity and design with beautiful quality, amazing colors and skilled craftsmanship.

Tour de France Grand Départ

Place: Several locations. Dates: 30 June – 4 July 2022

In July, the Denmark will have the honor of hosting the start of the world’s most prestigious cycling race, the Tour de France. The Grand Départ will take place in the cycling capital of them all, Copenhagen. The second stage roll through Roskilde and Nyborg and the third stage will go from Vejle to Sønderborg. A great opportunity, to explore some of Denmark’s most historic cities and beautiful landscapes.

Lamb Festival

Place: Southwest Jutland. Dates: 1 – 16 June 2022

Thousands of lamb and sheep lead a happy life along the Wadden Sea coastline. At the annual Lamb festival it is possible to try delicious lamb dishes at the region’s local restaurants, get an insight into lamb produce, bring home local specialities and spend the night in a countryside of unique natural beauty.

Copenhagen's biggest street party and club festival Distortion takes place every year in June and attracts nearly 300,000 people to its street parties, dance, art rock, freestyle hip hop, tech-house, polka and street art. Distortion takes place in a new part of Copenhagen every night and thus, moves around the city.

Northside Festival

Place: Aarhus. Dates: 2 – 4 June 2022

The Northside music festival in Central Jutland offers a wide array of Danish and International artists. Over the years, the festival has presented a lineup including for instance Arcade Fire, Nick Cave, Robyn, Lana Del Ray, Beck, and Arctic Monkeys. The Northside festival has quickly been recognized as an innovative festival which focuses on sustainability too.

Hundested Sandsculpture Festival

Place: Hundested. 12 May – 23 October 2022

International sand sculptors will travel to Hundested to create large sculpture of sand between the 7th and 10th of May. These days you will be able to see the art in progress, and enjoy the both symbolic and humoristic details of the sculptures. 

Rock Under Broen

Rock Under Broen

Place: Middelfart: Dates: 10 – 11 June 2022

Rock under the Bridge is a music festival in Middelfart that has been held every summer since 1989. The festival is Denmark's largest one-day festival. It is held next to Lillebælt on Fyn, under the new Lillebælt Brigde.

Copenhell is an annual outdoor rock and metal festival. During four days of June, Refshaleøen and the former B&W shipyard in the Danish capital transforms into a haven for metalheads from all over the world. The festival has grown to become one of the most popular metal events in Northern Europe. Metallica will play at this year’s Copenhell.

Tinderbox Festival

Place: Odense. Dates: 23 – 25 June 2022

Heading into its 8th year, the multi-genre festival in Tusindårskoven in Odense brings about 40.000 music lovers to H.C. Andersen’s home town. Tinderbox offers everything from EDM to rock to hip hop, featuring both local and international talent.

Odense Harbour Culture Festival

Place: Odense. Dates: 27 - 29 May 

Odense Habour Culture Festival open to all and focuses on the creation of art. It is about diversity and inclusion and about supporting and extending different cultural initiatives. A varied program gives artists from all over the country the opportunity topresent their passion to some 30.000 visitors.

Odsherred Rally

Place: Højby. Dates: TBD

The Odsherred Rally is a classic annual event in North West Sealand with participation of vintage cars and motorbikes. Kick off takes place in Højby at 9.00 am.

At the CPH STAGE theatre festival, artists, theatres and producers give their take on the good performance. It may be this year's success, the performance characterizing the season, or a new artistic direction. CPH STAGE takes place in Copenhagen and the city district of Frederiksberg, and includes both alternative venues, activities in public spaces and genre-breaking projects.

Copenhagen Photo Festival

Place: Copenhagen. Dates: 2 – 12 June 2022.

The largest Nordic festival of its kind is once again zooming in on and raising awareness about the art of photography. The work of both local and international contemporary photographers will be portrayed at several galleries, museums, photo schools and cultural institutions all over Copenhagen. The heart of the festival is the buzzing cultural-hub Refshaleøen, where selected artists will turn a 10.000 m2 wasteland into an innovative exhibition park filled with photography and lens-based art.


Fanø International Kite Fliers Meeting

Place: Fanø. Dates: 16-19 June

Each year in June 5000 kite owners meet up at Fanø to create the world’s largest kite rally. For 14 days visitors can enjoy amazing views of a sky dotted with kites in every shape, size and color. Some are homemade, others shaped as fantasy or film characters, while some are more traditional.
