Historiestalden – Local History Barn on Agersø

Historiestalden is a small local history house and museum on the island of Agersø off Skælskør in Slagelse Municipality. The museum tells the island's story and preserves the cultural heritage of Agersø, so both islanders and visitors can experience island life in the old days.

In the permanent exhibition you can learn about agriculture, fishing, crafts and housing on Agersø. Among the exhibits are pictures, clothing, tools, children's furniture and toys from the island's history.

A special part of the collection is the many costumes, cowls, hats and masks used for the traditional Hellig Tre Kongers Løb (Holy Three Kings' Run). The run is a legacy from when Denmark was still Catholic, and it still takes place on Agersø every year on 5 January.

Historiestalden is located on Egholmvej on the way towards Agersø Kro and is run by the Agersø Mill Guild and Museum Society with support from Slagelse Municipality. The ferry ride from Stigsnæs makes the visit a lovely day trip.
