Kramnitze Beach

Lovely sandy beach on the south coast of Lolland in an area with a jetty, holiday homes, campsite, small marina and grocery store/kiosk. At Kramnitze, east of the harbour pier, you'll find a perfect area for surfing. There is plenty of space to set up kites.  

 

Kramnitze Strand is one of the many sandy beaches along the south coast of Lolland, where the dyke protects against inland flooding.

 

The dykes along the south coast were built after the storm surge in 1872 and are maintained today by Lollands Digelaug and Lolland Municipality.

The pumping station at Kramnitze, which is the largest pumping station in Northern Europe, is responsible for the drainage of the diked area and can pump 20 cubic metres of water into the Fehmarnbelt per second. The pumping station also has a lock, bridge and a small marina. 

 

There are plenty of opportunities along Lolland's coasts to pursue your interests in the great outdoors. As an angler, you can fish from the shore, bridge or pier - sail out in a dinghy or with a tour boat. Sea trout and, in May, garfish are caught from the coast. Remember to buy a fishing licence when fishing in Denmark. Fishing licences can be purchased online. 

 

The area is also home to a rich flora. Here you will find what is probably Denmark's largest population of field cow-wheat, as well as interesting species such as wild celery, beach shells, grape goosefoot, deer root and sundew alanthus. 

 

The beach is cleaned every 3 weeks during the bathing season.

 

On the ‘Baltic Sea Route’ cycle path you can cycle on the dike all the way to Rødbyhavn or eastwards to the centre of Nakskov.
