Præstegaarden Jyderup – Restaurant with Local Produce
Timber framing, small crooked windows and a thatched roof – these are the setting for our farm restaurant. With calm, presence and authenticity we invite you in for homemade food – everything prepared from scratch. Our menu follows the seasons and the produce from our local growers – food made with love and genuine joy of cooking.

Since 1808, Præstegaarden Jyderup has been a gathering place for the parish priest and for people with something on their mind. Through generations, the house has framed both large and small occasions, where community and closeness have been at the centre.
Today, after standing empty for some years, Præstegaarden is in its 10th year as a beloved meeting place once again. Now with honest food, recurring events and culture interwoven with authenticity and informal hospitality.
All year round, Præstegaarden welcomes locals and visitors alike to a place where you can let your shoulders drop and where the scent of freshly baked bread fills the air. Here you share cosy moments with those you care about.
The small tables in the restaurant welcome you with candlelight, fresh flowers and a little name plate instead of a table number. The names all have a connection to Præstegaarden Jyderup – because here nothing is left to chance. It is the details that make your visits personal, and we take care to show that.
Lasse Trolddal, who runs Præstegaarden Jyderup today with his wife Pia Trolddal, grew up on the farm. Lasse's father was the last priest in office at the old parsonage. The place still bears the mark of this – the house is full of little stories and warmth, and here you sense that life and soul have been put into every corner.
Food and ingredients mean everything to the place. When we invite you to the table, it is with flavourful dishes prepared with love and respect for both tradition and renewal. Here we gather around food made from scratch, with good ingredients that we know and that may very well be local.
At Præstegaarden we care about where the ingredients come from – just as the relationship with local producers means a great deal. We take great pride in cooking with heart and prioritise local producers wherever possible. The same goes for the restaurant's Danish wine list.
Our cooperation with dedicated suppliers means you get the best the season can offer – do ask if there is anything you would like to know.
We love the variety that the larder of the seasons gives us. It brings inspiration to the restaurant's menu, to our food to go and to our little farm bakery. Each season has its own charm and its own favourites, which we look forward to sharing with you – whether you drop by for brunch, lunch or a cup of coffee.
In the summer half of the year, our white garden furniture stands ready in the courtyard. There is nothing so cosy and Danish as when the sun peeks out over the thatched roof, the flag flutters behind the beech hedge, and guests can enjoy a lovely brunch or a good lunch in the sunshine. Here you can let calm settle in as you enjoy homemade treats in good company.
When you have enjoyed your meal, we recommend a little trip up to the Main House, where 200 m² of cosy lifestyle shop and a small farm bakery await.
We look forward to seeing you.
