2-day bikepacking along the Danish Westcoast
Denmark is a true cycling nation, and along the Danish West Coast, flat terrain, coastal trails, and fresh sea air combine with excellent bike paths to make cycling easy, scenic, and unforgettable. Join the Global Cycle Network (GCN) on their two-day bike trip.

Day 1 - Westcoast Route 114 km
Denmark’s west coast route spans 560 km from the German border to Skagen and is part of EuroVelo 12. We join it in Esbjerg near the UNESCO-listed Wadden Sea. Flat but famously windy, the area challenges all riders across beaches, heath, wetlands and bike paths, and has hosted a UCI Gravel race at Blåvandshuk. Download the GPX of the route here.

Day 2 - Westcoastroute to Oxen Way 198 km
We head inland to join a centuries-old pilgrim route running from the German border toward northern Denmark. Spanning 500 km through Jutland, it follows burial mounds and runic stones and forms part of EuroVelo 3. We join it near Silkeborg after climbing Himmelbjerget, then ride south to Vejle, linking with the 2022 Tour de France route and Denmark’s steepest climb.
