Naturpark Åmosen – Denmark’s First Nature Park

Denmark's first nature park
Between Holbæk, Kalundborg and Sorø lies Naturpark Åmosen – the first nature park in Denmark. Here beautiful nature meets a rich cultural landscape: you can always watch a wealth of birds, smell the seasons and experience a landscape shaped by the activities and labour of our ancestors.
The area can be explored on foot, by bike or by canoe. If you want to stay overnight, there is a large choice of shelter sites. Whether alone, with the family or in a group, the possibilities are many. Naturpark Åmosen is an area of unique cultural, natural, geological and scenic value.
Out in nature
Please show consideration for animals, plants and other people when you visit. You may of course walk and cycle on roads and paths in the open countryside, but the landscape within the park is privately owned, so owners may prohibit access if it interferes with their privacy or farming. Simply follow these rules during your visit:
- Visit Naturpark Åmosen between 7 a.m. and sunset.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead in woodland and uncultivated areas.
- Riding requires the landowner's permission.
- Fishing is possible in Skarresø, Tissø and Halleby Å. Some stretches require membership of an angling association.
