Enjoy the tranquillity of Fredensborg Palace Gardens (1753), Denmark's largest historical royal garden, with French baroque style gardens, ivory sculptures, and wildflowers. Visit the royals’ private garden in July and don't forget to stop by Esrum lake for a picturesque sunset.

Visit for a quick break at one of the parks cafés and restaurants. 

It's one of Europe’s finest Renaissance buildings, and simply seem to have been taken straight out of a fairytale. This castle and it's garden is something truly special with features including a real moat, spires, a knight’s hall, and beautiful swans and ducklings in the Castle lake. 

Explore Scandinavia's largest visitable organic garden, with 14 different sub-gardens. Bring the whole family, and let the kids take over the gardens playground as you explore different herbs, vines, and plants,  and visit the gardens shop for delicious seeds, chocolate and much more. 

Join the tulip festival in April and May, and dig up the blossomed tulip bulbs to bring them back home to your own garden (all for free!). Or join the Castle's Lily festival in July and August for stunning views of colourful gardens and a delightful fragrance of flowers in the air. 

Get lost in Northwest Europe's biggest raised bog with protected and untouched nature where wild- life thrives. Here you can get up close with moose, eagles and wild boar. Explore the terrain by foot, bike, bus or car for a unique nature experience. 

Situated in what is known as the Lake District, the Sky Mountain provides views of intriguing wood- lands, lakes and rolling hills. It is the perfect land- scape for a mountain bike or hiking adventure and will allow you to disconnect from the buzz of the city.  

Enjoy lush green surroundings in the heart of Odense, Fyn's largest city and hometown of the world famous Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Here you can bring your kids to the parks playground, hang out by the water at Monks Mose, or visit the Fairy Tale Garden.

Frederiksborg Castle Gardens consist of the Baroque Gardens and the Landscape Gardens. Enjoy views of symmetrical designs with terraces, cascades, formed trees and royal monograms. It's a fantastic experience whether you are a garden nerd or simply like to enjoy the beauty of nature.

With 15 hectares of romantic garden grounds, Sanderumgaard provides a unique idyllic atmosphere. Walk the grounds and stop by some one the many gazebos and memorials to really take in the beauty of nature. It's a guarantee, you'll finish the garden tour feeling peaceful and uplifted.

It’s THE place for a picnic! Enjoy views of Frederiksberg Palace, do a boat tour in the garden canals, or visit the Royal teahouse. Combine your garden adventure with a quick stop by Copenhagen Zoo or the Cisterns (an underground water reservoir) across from the gardens. 

Looking for an idyllic escape without even having to leave the city? The Botanical Gardens is home to the largest collection of plants in Denmark, and is known for its exhibitions, historical glasshouses, and free access. If that's not enough, buy access to the gardens magical Palm House and experience exotic and beautifully coloured butterflies. 

Located just outside Copenhagen, this natural playground and unfertilized nature preserve is an important habitat for insects, toads, frogs etc. Bring your sleeping bag, and become one with nature as you spend the night under the stars with the birds, deer, horses, sheep and cows that live here. 

Visit an abandoned military camp, where nature has taken back control. Get lost in a field of flowers, listen for the sound of frogs nearby the lakes, and spot some of the deer roaming the areas. You can even pick your own bucket of flowers and bring them back home! 

As an English-inspired landscape garden known for its vast lawns, lakes, flower beds and winding paths, the garden blends in well with the South Jutland landscape. It is Queen Margrethe's summer residence and makes the perfect garden to visit, if you're on a cycle vacation along the N8 bike route. 

Climb the 45 meter tall Forest Tower and experience the highest accessible point on Zealand, or swing yourself in the trees and enjoy a thrilling day of obstacle courses out in Camp Adventures forest areas. 

Part of the large Marselisborg – Moesgaard forest, this park is home to a large herd of deer that will come up close for a carrot and a cuddle. Bring your picnic, but be ready to share!

Located on Slotsholmen between Christiansborg Palace and the Royal Library, this stunning oasis with beds of flowers, large shadowy trees and a water sculpture in the middle of the central pool spouting cascades of water every hour, sets the scene for a perfect city-break environment.
