Live the island life on Fyn

Heartland Festival at Egeskov Castle Denmark

Have you ever heard of a pretty little place called Fyn?

We Danes are not the only ones that love to escape it all on this pretty, green island. National Geographic thinks Fyn's Kerteminde is one of Europe's best secret villages. And there are more peaceful places to discover for yourself when you get here. (When are you getting here?)

9 things you can only try on Fyn!

Go beyond the home of Hans Christian Andersen in Odense and explore Denmark’s green heartbeat. Fyn is covered in gardens, woods, parks and connected to its own archipelago. It’s nearly impossible not to see a castle on Fyn, an island full of unique attractions too like bridgewalking!

Odense: Step back in time at Hans Christian Andersen’s home

Odense is a place of literary wonder. The cosy city is the birthplace of the world’s most famous writer of fairy tales, Hans Christian Andersen, and a trip to explore the cobbled streets of his childhood home and the Hans Christian Andersen Museum is a real step back in time.

Where is Fyn?

Fyn is between Zealand (Copenhagen’s home island) and mainland Denmark. If you’re driving from Copenhagen, lucky you! You get to go over the Great Belt Bridge, the 4th longest suspension bridge in the world.

Fyn is a good place to go slow for a bit

Are you looking to slow the ole’ hectic life down for a while? Disconnect from the hustle and bustle etc… Then we heartily recommend you take a few days out on Fyn and nearby islands, like Ærø.

Look how pretty Fyn is!

We've picked some goodies from Instagram, so you can take a visual journey through the island's most photogenic spots and get some Fyn feels.

Nowhere else on Earth has more castles

OK, we totally made that up. But now you're reading... there are 123 castles and manor houses on this pint-sized island. You can't avoid seeing one when you're on Fyn!

Fyn has its own archipelago!

You might not know this about us, but we are an island destination. We’ve got over 400 of them. Many of our most popular ones to visit are nestled around the pretty coast of Fyn. And cycling through the South Fyn Archipelago is the ultimate way to disconnect.

This is the place to slow things down for a bit. To explore the almost 100 islands in your own way.

Just so you know, it's pronounced Foon. (Maybe practise this a bit before we move on to Odense...)
